Boats and Yau Ley, cats and cars

It was like summer today, and the always generous Robynne and Pete and their daughter Noush, took me and Lucy and Noush’s friend Alex on their boat to an island off the coast of Sai Kung – Yau Ley in their boat. A great lunch at a restaurant that feels like being in Greece, right on the beach. And it was warm enough to swim in the sea. Yippee. I was straight in for a refreshing post lunch dip. And on the way home, we met Dobby, the bengal cat on the MTR. I’ve never seen a cat on the underground, let alone a bengal. Perhaps the universe is trying to remind me I have a little cat back home. Dobby was a massive, muscular and very young Bengal. Made Dorey look like a little old lady. How I wish I was able to take Dorey on my travels. That would add a whole new dimension. As it is, I’ll just enjoy Lucy as my travelling companion for now. Perhaps we can go for a spin in the pretty car I spotted outside our hostel tomorrow. Definitely my colours.

The only thing about spontaneous swimming in the sea is you spend the rest of the day in wet underwear and damp clothes and it can get to feel a bit chilly. But a reviving hot shower is the best antidote, and now I’m feeling warmed up, all aglow with Hong Kong’s offerings of the day, and ready for a big sleep.

Looking for my long lost family in Hong Kong And previously.... Fell in love with coastal living 5 years ago. And moved to stunning St Ives. A place to create and grow and flourish. Got me a home and a job. And never looked back. Everyone talks and writes about the famous dead people of St Ives. Virginia and Alfred and Ben and Barbara and Peter and Wilhelmina. Well I thought I’d introduce you to some very nice folk, and they’re all very much alive and make St Ives a much the better town for it.
